A New Year, A New Me.

So it is officially 2012. It doesn't necessarily feel any different yet, but I have faith that great things are coming. The time between my graduation and now has been spent seeing family, eating unhealthy food, playing my guitar, going to Orlando to work at Disney, job searching, and moving out of my apartment. I got very lucky that I found a sub-leaser before January 1st, otherwise I would have had to pay rent for an apartment I don't live in. I found a girl at the last minute, so my Dad and I spent New Years Eve Day moving the rest of my stuff out of the apartment, and putting things in storage. I'm going to miss living there, I have a lot a great memories with wonderful friends in that apartment.

Here is an update on the cruise line situation:

I got an email from the recruiting company saying they would very much like to interview me for Entertainment (Activities) Staff on Carnival! :) She said she would be contacting me in about 3 weeks for the preliminary phone interview. I also found out that if make it through all of the interviews and I am offered a position, that the earliest I would be boarding a ship is March. Although this is later than I was hoping for, I'm still so excited for the possibility of working on a cruise ship!

In the meantime, I met with a family today and I am going to be driving their middle schoolers around 4 days a week. I'll be picking them up from school and driving them to basketball, volleyball, and swim practice. They are very sweet, and this is a great way to finally start bringing in some money. I've also applied to work at places like Petco and Harris Teeter for weekday mornings. I'll be able to start saving a good amount of money if I can also get a morning job, so fingers crossed!

I've made a list of resolutions for the coming year, and here they are:

1. Travel somewhere I have never been before. (this will be easy if I get the cruise job)
2. Get my sister tattoo with Lauren. (can't wait!)
3. Learn to play guitar. (already started)
4. Do something cardio at least 3 times a week. (this one will probably be the hardest)
5. Blog at least once a week. (I think I can, I think I can)
6. Move to LA. (DO IT!)
7. Learn how to make something instead of buying it. DIY (done! but I want to make more)

For number 7, I learned how to recycle t-shirts into cute woven headbands:

I even made bracelets.

They are super simple to make, and it was fun to do. I really like DIY stuff.

I may add some things to my resolutions list but for now, that is what I have, and I'm excited to do every single one of them!

I can't wait for the rest of my 2012 adventures!
